02. Hippocampus and Alzheimer's disease

03. The latest research results
The gradual atrophy of hippocampus is the main cause of short-term memory loss in Alzheimer's disease, and CBD will play an important role in it, including the improvement of function and how the brain processes emotional memory, so as to achieve the purpose of remission or treatment by improving sleep.
Researchers at University College London used a randomized, crossover, double-blind design. In order to ensure the accuracy of the test CBD absorption data, participants began fasting within 12 hours. Then 15 healthy participants were given 600 mg of CBD or placebo, and regional cerebral blood flow (CBF) was measured 3 hours after administration.

The researchers believe that the exact mechanism of CBD in regulating memory processing is unclear. In addition to regulating the vascular system, CBD also has many neuronal targets, which may be the basis of its cognitive, anti anxiety and antipsychotic effects.
Hippocampus is an important therapeutic target for a variety of neuropsychiatric disorders. In addition to Alzheimer's disease, depression, PTSD and other diseases are closely related to regional cerebral blood flow and brain volume changes.
